Mission 22 is a suicide prevention program designed for both military personnel and veterans. They raise money through events where volunteers may do daily road marches for a month, as well as monthly walking events.Â
Volunteers can sign up through their site or on social media to participate. All the funds go to Mission 22 to support the mission of ending veteran and military suicide.
I have participated in one of these events, and I really enjoyed it. Sadly, there is so much stigma attached to mental health issues for veterans and military personnel. Those who are struggling are perceived as weak. Far from it. Struggling with mental health is a very human condition, and veterans and military personnel deserve our best efforts to put an end to this crisis.
If you need help, reach out. Help is available. (Make a donation as well. These guys are great.)
