Music has always been an important part of military life whether it's Reveille in the morning or Taps at night. It has played a part in our military funerals and our time on the battlefield.

According to the Defense Technical Information Center, "Music helps unite societies and their military forces in times of war and peace. Martial music has been used to communicate, enhance disCipline, as a psychological instrument of war, to calm troops, and to improve esprit de corps."
